Colorado man sentenced after accidentally shooting a woman’s mohawk he mistook for a bird

Ok. We are all about showing who you are as an individual but this may be an example as to when you may have taken things a little too far. This is an excerpt from Foxnews.com

A Colorado man was sentenced to five years’ probation after accidentally shooting a woman whose red mohawk he mistook for a fowl that had been harassing his cats.

Derrill Rockwell, 49, told police that he grabbed his .22-caliber rifle and set out from his home Oct. 5 to fire at the bird after spotting it at the top of a hill about 90 feet away, the Daily Sentinel reported Friday.

“His intent was to spook it away,” Deputy District Attorney Jason Conley told District Judge Richard Gurley on Friday, according to the newspaper.

But after shooting at the bird, the man said he noticed it didn’t fly away and he reported hearing a woman moaning in pain.

Rockwell soon discovered that he had shot a 23-year-old woman in the head, mistaking her red mohawk for the menacing bird.

~The story goes on about how the lady may have been passed out before the shooting and that small quantities of Meth was found near the area that she was shot.

Kinect Dressing Room

This is the future of clothes shopping. Ever go to the fitting room to try on clothes but you have to either wait for an attendant or take a number. Then once you get inside the fitting room there are sharp pins in the carpet and on the bench? Well we have news. Soon you won’t have to go the fitting room to see how you look in an outfit! The Windows Kinect device scans your body’s exact measurements and allows you to toggle through the store’s entire catalog without actually trying on a single outfit. This would be good technology to have for online shopping at home. Check out the video:

ṠḀḉṙḕḊ ṖḕḀṙḶṠ

A young couple moved into a new neighbourhood. The next morning whilst eating breakfast, the young woman sees her neighbour hanging the wash outside.

“That laundry is not very clean”, she said. “She doesn’t know how to wash correctly. Perhaps she needs better laundry soap.” Her husband looked on, but remained silent. Every time her neighbour would hang her wash to dry, the young woman would make the same comments.

About one month later, the woman was surprised to see a nice clean wash on the line and said to her husband: “Look, she has learned how to wash correctly. I wonder who taught her this.” The husband said, “I got up early this morning and cleaned our windows.”

And so it is with life. What we see when watching others depends on the purity of the window through which we look. Easy to discuss other people, their lives and…

Amelia Earhart’s Bones Found?

It seems the mystery may be soon over about the location of Amelia Earhart’s crash site. Some bones were found about 40 years ago on an island in the South Pacific. It was unclear through visual inspection as to what sex the bones were so they ended up being sent to a lab. The lab later (incorrectly) identified the bones as being “male” and the bones were set aside and nearly forgotten, until now. Recent inspection of Amelia’s take-off video below shows a “poof of smoke” coming from the plane as it tore down the runway. Historians believe the smoke was the main reception antenna breaking off. Without this antenna, Amelia could not communicate with the ground crew or navigate. The news about the wrong identification, take-off footage and other artifacts found on the island are leading to a renewed interest in the Earhart mystery.
